Love helping people reach their goals and figuring out what works?

Academic Coaches and Interventionists help students identify their strengths, overcome learning challenges, and build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. They also work alongside teachers, using data and effective strategies to identify student needs and strengthen instruction.

Your impact: Help turn “I can’t do this” into “I’ve got this!” You can support students directly while also helping teachers use data and new strategies to make learning more successful for every student.

How Do I Get There?

There are several paths into academic coaching and intervention. Many professionals begin as teachers and build additional experience or training in areas such as reading, math, special education, instructional coaching, or educational leadership.

High School → Bachelor's Degree → Teacher Preparation/Certification → Classroom Experience → Specialized Training or Advanced Degree → Academic Coach/Interventionist

While you're in high school, try tutoring, mentoring, peer teaching, or helping classmates understand something you're good at.
