We Support Our Schools
Instructional Materials and Media provides the foundations upon which teachers and students can build academic strength. From the district level the Instructional Materials office manages the selection and procurement resources from kindergarten through grade 12 for core courses of English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The Library Media office supports library media specialists and media centers. at the school level, promotes reading, critical thinking, digital and information literacy skills, as the hub of the school. Library media centers are essential to building academic resiliance through guided inquiry, research, and knowledge building.

The instructional materials office oversees the adoption process and procurement of textbooks. Our mission is to ensure that students are provided high-quality resources that enhance the learning environment.
Notice to Publishers
To ensure a transparent adoption process and equitable access for all publishers, Leon County Schools is a closed adoption school district. During the adoption process, you are forbidden from visiting or contacting schools regarding any materials that are available for adoption. Should you have any business with employees regarding materials not up for adoption, permission from the instructional materials office is required prior to communication.
Library Media
General Information
Leon County Schools’ Library Media Services offers a number of services and programs to aid school library staff, teachers, students, and community members.
Collection Development Plans
As per FS ____________________ Florida school districts must create and post annually Collection Development Plans for all school libraries. LCS school media speialists use as guidance industry best practices, FS _______, and LCS School Board PO _______________. Support for school libraries and library media specialists is provided via professional development and on-site coaching
